| hello there. i have sad news for you... after much consideration i have decided to close this site. i have hated the "genius33" name ever since five minutes after i entered it over four years ago. it's the first internet nickname i chose from when i was an egotistic fifth grader in 1996. i was too lazy to change it once i realized i was nowhere near worthy of "genius" status. so that is one reason why i'm closing up shop. the second reason? i've started a new, more formal blog. it's going to be the repository for my laid-back ramblings and, every so often, little mini-articles that i want to write about the status of the church, or big philosophical struggles and such. if you want to follow me there, i would really appreciate the company. the address (a little better than "genius33") is:
http://jeremybixler.blogspot.com
i'm going to keep this running so i can keep my archives, and to keep track of all my friends still on xanga. however, this will be my last post. and to think... i was *this close* to 50,000 hits.

| it's not healthy to avoid conflict.
face reality, it's not as bad as it seems.

| come to the water's edge all who know and fear the Lord. come and listen. come to the water's edge all you who are thirsty, come. let me tell you what he has done for me. let me tell you what he had done for me. he has done for you. he has done for us. come and listen to what he has done. praise our God, for he is good.
the battle is growing. are you ready? combat the evil one, you are capable.
we can do this... together.

| i was in a christian bookstore today. i wanted to scream.
when did we become so pessimistic? all i saw were these depressing books with titles talking about how depraved this world is and how everything is out of control and we have to go back to the "good ol' days." a relationship with God is not pessimistic. the church shouldn't be pessimistic (emphasis on the word should), and we should not be pessimistic. you're not living up to your potential when you focus on the negative.
seriously... FIND JOY. find joy in all things. yeah, this world sucks, but stop complaining about it and A) do something about it, and B) focus on the good that exists in this world (and yes... it does exist). i don't know how to carry on conversations with people who do nothing but complain about how awful this world has become, i had to do it today and it was not fun. so for the three people who do read this (and they probably don't need to be told this anyway): FOCUS ON THE GOOD, BE OPTIMISTIC, and FIND JOY. to everyone else who doesn't read this: look out, because you'll be hearing about this eventually.

| i can't imagine five years from now saying, "remember sesame seeds? what happened? all the buns are blank!" what would mcdonald's do? it would be "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a..................... bun."
